Full Time Fixed Term (18 month) Role Commencing January 2022
Tasmanian Irrigation Pty Ltd (TI) is the state-owned company responsible for developing and operating irrigation schemes funded through public/private partnerships. With 18 operational irrigation schemes, 2 mini hydro plants and $208M of funding for the development of new schemes it is exciting times ahead for TI and the Tasmanian Agribusiness sector.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The primary objective of this role is to supervise and represent TI in the coordination of the onsite activities for the construction of the $29M Don Irrigation Scheme which includes 3 pump stations, 2 balance tanks and approximately 60km of pipeline. When complete, the irrigation scheme will service 53 irrigators across the Don, Barrington and Sheffield areas. Key duties will involve attendance at pre-start meetings, daily reporting, safety inspections, quality inspections and stakeholder liaison.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
The ideal applicant will be a proactive member of the project team who has safety front of mind and a high level of attention to detail. Strong conflict resolution and problem solving skills will be required along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Extensive experience in the construction industry (preferably water projects) will be highly regarded, as well as qualifications in a relevant trade, engineering and / or construction supervision.
