Tasmanian Irrigation Pty Ltd is a State-owned Company that develops, owns and operates irrigation schemes in Tasmania, in accordance with sound commercial practice, to facilitate the expansion of agricultural production in the State.
Tasmanian Irrigation owns and operates 19 irrigation schemes across the state, along with additional inherited infrastructure. Tasmanian Irrigation’s promise to our irrigator customers is to “provide irrigators reliable and consistent water at the lowest sustainable price while responsibly and sustainably managing our water resources, scheme assets and the environment.”
The Company also oversees development of irrigation schemes, funded through a unique public / private partnership model.
Tasmanian Irrigation now oversees 26,000 individual infrastructure assets with a replacement value of approximately $500 million and has the capacity to deliver more than 151,000 megalitres of irrigation water each year.
All schemes developed and operated by Tasmanian Irrigation are economically viable, environmentally sustainable, have strong community endorsement, are designed to last at least 100 years and deliver water at an average reliability of more than 95 per cent per annum.

Tasmanian Irrigation is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our team as a Commercial Services Administration Support. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to grow their skills and develop a long-term career in administration, finance, or business operations.
Working across our Commercial Services and Finance teams, you’ll assist with day-to-day administrative duties and support important functions such as water trading, records management, accounts processing, and customer service. You’ll also provide coverage for our front-of-house (reception) area when needed.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing general office support including document handling, record keeping, and reception coverage.
• Assisting with the processing of water trade applications and maintaining registers.
• Supporting invoicing, payments, and financial reconciliations under guidance.
• Helping the team maintain accurate records in both digital and physical filing systems.
• Providing support for internal communication, reporting, and corporate projects.
• Learning and using systems such as Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and TechOne.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Core Competencies:
• Basic administrative skills and an eagerness to learn new systems and processes.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (especially Outlook, Excel and Word).
• A keen eye for detail and a willingness to follow procedures carefully.
• A flexible, can-do attitude to support multiple teams with a variety of tasks.
• The ability to prioritise, ask questions, and seek help when needed.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
• Certificate II or III in Business, Administration, or equivalent (or currently studying).
• Previous work or volunteer experience in an office, retail, or customer-facing role.
• Interest in water, agriculture, or public sector operations.
