Project Manager

Full time, 3 year fixed term contract.


Tasmanian Irrigation Pty Ltd (TI) is the state-owned company responsible for developing and operating irrigation schemes funded through public/private partnerships. With 18 operational irrigation schemes, 2 mini hydro plants and $208M of funding for the development of new schemes it is exciting times ahead for TI and the Tasmanian Agribusiness sector.


This role is responsible for delivering successful projects on time and budget. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead projects at Tasmanian Irrigation from Development through to Delivery Phases
  • Lead the definition of project scope and objectives ensuring technical feasibility of the project/s
  • Develop and work to detailed project plans, budgets and resourcing plans to monitor and track progress
  • Coordination and management of internal resources and external consultants and contractors
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Successfully manage the relationship with all stakeholders, internal and external
  • Report project performance using appropriate tools and techniques and ensure that comprehensive project documentation is maintained.


The ideal applicant will have proven experience in project management in construction or water management industries coupled with extensive knowledge of contemporary project and contract management practices. Proven people coordination skills will be required, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships. Knowledge of the water delivery industry and formal qualifications in project management will be highly regarded.
