One hundred per cent of water entitlements have already been sold on the majority of Tasmanian Irrigation’s operational schemes around the State.
Limited entitlements on existing schemes are available for purchase by both landowners and investors.
Investigating new water products
Tasmanian Irrigation is investigating options to ensure that irrigators have access to all available water on a scheme, where unsold water capacity exists. This may include development of new water products.
Midlands Irrigation Scheme
Tasmanian Irrigation is pleased to announce the launch of the Midlands Winter Water Entitlement Tender, offering 3,414 ML of winter water in the Blackmans River and Macquarie River (Zone 3) on the Midlands Irrigation Scheme.
This is an opportunity for landholders to secure valuable water entitlements in the Midlands Scheme through a competitive tender process. The tender process is designed to maximise fairness and accessibility, ensuring irrigators can benefit from sustainable water access at competitive pricing.

Scottsdale Irrigation Scheme
Tasmanian Irrigation has been investigating the viability of an additional winter water product, which will convert Scottsdale to a year-round scheme.
Consultation has been undertaken with landowners in the district, which resulted in feedback on what irrigators want. Tasmanian Irrigation is now working with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to obtain additional water licenses that would enable offer of this new water product and will provide an update to irrigators as soon as possible.
