Josh Clark’s passion for building opportunities for early-career professionals within the dams industry has landed him an exciting new national role.

Josh, Tasmanian Irrigation’s Dam Safety Engineer, has been appointed as the Emerging Professionals National Convenor for the Australian National Committee on Large Dams (ANCOLD).

The Emerging Professionals Group plays an active role in the development of engineers within the dams industry, organising events and coordinating a mentoring program for the next generation of professionals.

The key objectives of the Emerging Professionals (EPs) Program are to:

  • Educate and develop the knowledge of the emerging generation of dams engineers;
  • Provide a forum where the emerging generation of dams engineers feel engaged and empowered to contribute to the larger ANCOLD body; and
  • Provide a network which enables better communication between the emerging generation of dams engineers.

Josh said he is excited to lead the group to entice more people into dam related career paths.

“I am honoured to be selected to take on this role and am looking forward to working with other passionate and skilled dam professionals from around the country and abroad, to make a real difference,” he said.

“The Emerging Professionals group has been instrumental in connecting early-career professionals with experienced mentors in the field, as well as the Life of a Dams Series of webinars that enable industry experts to share their lessons learned from major projects across Australia and overseas. I am looking forward to future opportunities to continue this legacy.”
