Protecting Wetlands: Free Workshop for Farmers and Land Managers

Tasmania’s wetlands are more than just beautiful – they’re vital. From supporting migratory bird habitats to filtering water and boosting biodiversity, these ecosystems need our care.
That’s why Tasmanian Irrigation is proud to partner with NRM South for an informative, hands-on workshop, Partnerships to Protect Our Wetlands, at the scenic Devil’s Corner Winery on 4 June 2025, from 10am to 3pm.
This free event is tailored for landowners, farmers, and anyone passionate about protecting our natural water assets. You’ll hear from expert speakers on wetland ecology, irrigation practices that benefit the environment, and support available for conservation projects.
A local Swan Scheme irrigator will share insights about managing a vineyard near the Moulting Lagoon Ramsar Wetland Site, while members of Tasmanian Irrigation’s environmental team will highlight how we’re working alongside irrigators across the state to use water sustainably.
You’ll walk away with practical tools, local knowledge, and access to support that helps you make a difference on your property.
Lunch and snacks are provided – all you need to bring is your curiosity.
Spots are limited, so register now to secure your place. Let’s protect what matters – together.
